From 15 to 31 March 2000, the Gallery Jacques Barrère organized for the Atomic Energy Agency an exhibition of archaeological Chinese sculptures dating from the end of the Warring Kingdoms (4th to 3rd century BC).

These works of art from the Chu Kingdom (China 5th – 4th century BC), reveal a little known facet in Chinese civilization. Until now, only a few important museums had Chu woods in their collection. For the most part made of carved lacquered wood, these objects bear witness to the rich and complex creeds of a culture now extinct.
